Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Operations:

Guest Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests during the night, handling check-ins, check-outs, and resolving any issues or concerns.
Requests: Address guest requests and inquiries, including room service, maintenance issues, and information about ship amenities and services.

Accounting and Financial Reporting:

Nightly Audits: Perform end-of-day financial audits, including reconciling daily transactions, verifying charges, and ensuring accuracy in guest billing.
Reports: Generate and review nightly financial reports, including revenue, expenses, and adjustments. Report any discrepancies or issues to the Front Office Manager.

Security and Safety:

Monitoring: Monitor the security systems and perform regular checks of the ship’s premises to ensure guest and crew safety.
Emergency Response: Respond to any emergency situations or incidents according to ship protocols, including handling medical emergencies and security breaches.

Administrative Duties:

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of guest interactions, financial transactions, and any incidents or special requests.
Communication: Ensure effective communication with the day shift staff, passing on any relevant information or issues that need attention.

Guest Relations:

Problem Resolution: Handle guest complaints and issues with professionalism and efficiency, aiming to resolve concerns and ensure a positive experience.
Feedback: Collect and document guest feedback to assist in improving service quality and addressing any recurring issues.

Operational Support:

Coordination: Coordinate with other departments, such as housekeeping and food and beverage, to ensure seamless service and address any operational needs.
Inventory: Manage the front desk inventory, including keys, supplies, and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a hotel or cruise ship front desk role, with a strong background in accounting or financial reporting is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with front desk and accounting software, as well as standard office equipment.
  • Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues effectively.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to adapt to varying workloads and situations.

Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Work will be conducted at the front desk area of the cruise ship during nighttime hours, which may include standing or sitting for extended periods.
  • Hours: Night shifts, with flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
