• Key Responsibilities:

  • Beverage Service:

    • Take and deliver drink orders promptly and accurately from guests seated at the bar or in designated areas.
    • Serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring high standards of presentation and quality.

  • Guest Experience:

    • Provide attentive and personalized service, engaging with guests to understand their preferences and needs.
    • Create a welcoming and refined atmosphere, ensuring every interaction reflects the luxury and sophistication of the cruise line.

  • Bar Area Management:

    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including tables and surrounding spaces.
    • Assist with restocking and managing inventory, reporting any shortages or issues to the bar supervisor.
    • Ensure the proper handling and storage of all beverage items and equipment.

  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
    • Verify guest ages to comply with legal drinking age requirements and ensure safe alcohol consumption.
    • Adhere to all shipboard safety protocols and emergency procedures.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with bar staff, waitstaff, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient service operations.
    • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on service standards and new procedures.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Handle financial transactions accurately, including processing payments and reconciling cash and credit card transactions.
    • Maintain accurate records of orders and guest requests.
  • Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a bar waiter or in a similar customer-facing role in a high-end or luxury setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of beverage service standards, including cocktails, wines, and spirits.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a polished, professional demeanor and a strong ability to engage with guests.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and German, with the ability to interact effectively with international guests.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and handle high-pressure situations with grace.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service and knowledge of relevant regulations is a plus.

  • This position requires living and working onboard the cruise ship for extended periods.
  • Accommodation and meals are provided onboard.
  • A pre-employment medical examination and background check are required.
