Key Responsibilities:
Bar Service:
- Greet guests and take beverage orders in a friendly and professional manner.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of drinks, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring precision and high presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including restocking supplies and managing inventory.
Restaurant Service:
- Provide attentive and efficient service to guests in the restaurant, including taking food and drink orders, serving meals, and clearing tables.
- Ensure that all dishes are presented to the highest standards and meet guest specifications.
- Handle guest inquiries and special requests, accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences with professionalism.
Guest Experience:
- Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, enhancing their dining experience with personalized service.
- Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
- Engage with guests to ensure their needs are met and their dining experience is exceptional.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with bar staff, waitstaff, kitchen staff, and other departments to ensure seamless service.
- Assist with training new team members and share knowledge of service standards and procedures.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvements and operational efficiency.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
- Ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements and promote responsible beverage consumption.
- Follow all shipboard safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a bar and/or restaurant, preferably in a luxury or high-end environment.
- Knowledge of beverage and food service standards, including cocktails, wines, and fine dining etiquette.
- Customer service skills with a polished, professional appearance and demeanor.
- Communication skills in both English and German, with the ability to interact effectively with international guests.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service is an advantage.
Additional Information:
- This position requires living and working onboard the cruise ship for extended periods.
- Accommodation and meals are provided onboard.
- A pre-employment medical examination and background check are required.
