Responsibilities:

  1. Guest Service:

    • Assist in welcoming guests and guiding them to their tables.
    • Take and deliver food and beverage orders with attention to detail.
    • Provide assistance to guests with menu selections and accommodate special requests.

  2. Food and Beverage Service:

    • Serve dishes and beverages in accordance with luxury service standards.
    • Ensure that food is presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperature.
    • Clear tables and reset for the next guests, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.

  3. Preparation and Presentation:

    • Prepare tables and dining areas before guests arrive, including setting up silverware, glassware, and table settings.
    • Assist in the setup and breakdown of special events or functions.
    • Handle and store food and beverages according to hygiene and safety standards.

  4. Communication and Coordination:

    • Collaborate with other members of the service team, including senior waitstaff and kitchen personnel, to ensure smooth operations.
    • Communicate effectively to address guest needs and handle any special requests or dietary requirements.

  5. Maintaining Standards:

    • Follow all onboard health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
    • Maintain a polished appearance and adhere to the dress code and grooming standards of the cruise line.

  6. Training and Development:

    • Participate in training sessions and team meetings to enhance service skills and knowledge of the menu and beverage offerings.
    • Continuously seek to improve service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a food service or hospitality role is often preferred but not always required.
  • Skills: Good communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Language: Proficiency in English and German.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods and carrying trays.
