Key Responsibilities:
Bar Management:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the bar, ensuring efficient and smooth service.
- Develop and maintain a high-quality beverage menu, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage ordering and restocking, and oversee the handling and storage of all beverage items.
Staff Supervision:
- Lead, train, and motivate bar staff, providing guidance on service standards, cocktail preparation, and guest interaction.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to luxury service standards.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage labor costs effectively.
Guest Experience:
- Ensure that all guests receive outstanding service, addressing their needs and preferences with professionalism and courtesy.
- Handle guest complaints and concerns promptly, striving to resolve issues to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Foster a refined and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the luxury and elegance of the cruise line.
Beverage Quality and Innovation:
- Stay current with industry trends and innovations to enhance the beverage menu and introduce new offerings.
- Ensure all beverages are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks to maintain consistency.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
- Ensure that all bar operations comply with legal drinking age requirements and promote responsible beverage consumption.
- Implement and enforce safety and emergency procedures specific to the cruise environment.
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of beverage inventory, sales, and financial transactions.
- Prepare reports on bar performance, including sales data, inventory levels, and staff performance.
- Manage and reconcile cash and credit card transactions.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including food service and entertainment, to ensure a cohesive and enjoyable guest experience.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of service standards and operational procedures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a head bartender, or in a similar senior role within a luxury or high-end environment.
- Extensive knowledge of cocktail recipes, wines, spirits, and beverage trends.
- Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and inspire staff.
- Customer service skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on maintaining high service standards.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service and familiarity with relevant regulations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in English and German.

- This position requires residing and working onboard the cruise ship for extended periods.
