• Key Responsibilities:

  • Bar Management:

    • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the bar, ensuring efficient and smooth service.
    • Develop and maintain a high-quality beverage menu, including cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks.
    • Monitor inventory levels, manage ordering and restocking, and oversee the handling and storage of all beverage items.

  • Staff Supervision:

    • Lead, train, and motivate bar staff, providing guidance on service standards, cocktail preparation, and guest interaction.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to luxury service standards.
    • Schedule staff shifts and manage labor costs effectively.

  • Guest Experience:

    • Ensure that all guests receive outstanding service, addressing their needs and preferences with professionalism and courtesy.
    • Handle guest complaints and concerns promptly, striving to resolve issues to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
    • Foster a refined and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the luxury and elegance of the cruise line.

  • Beverage Quality and Innovation:

    • Stay current with industry trends and innovations to enhance the beverage menu and introduce new offerings.
    • Ensure all beverages are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks to maintain consistency.

  • Compliance and Safety:

    • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
    • Ensure that all bar operations comply with legal drinking age requirements and promote responsible beverage consumption.
    • Implement and enforce safety and emergency procedures specific to the cruise environment.

  • Administrative Duties:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of beverage inventory, sales, and financial transactions.
    • Prepare reports on bar performance, including sales data, inventory levels, and staff performance.
    • Manage and reconcile cash and credit card transactions.

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments, including food service and entertainment, to ensure a cohesive and enjoyable guest experience.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of service standards and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a head bartender, or in a similar senior role within a luxury or high-end environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of cocktail recipes, wines, spirits, and beverage trends.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and inspire staff.
  • Customer service skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on maintaining high service standards.
  • Certification in responsible alcohol service and familiarity with relevant regulations is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in English and German.

  • This position requires residing and working onboard the cruise ship for extended periods.
  • Accommodation and meals are provided onboard.
